Alberto Patino scammed me out of $12,500

In April of 2021 we hired Alberto Patino to do a rather large front and back yard landscaping project which included demoing an old yard with railroad ties, landscaping and grading the yard, new sprinklers, and cement slabs and steps.

At the time, Alberto Patino and his brother Carlos, went by Revolution Landscaping of Utah. Apparently, they changed their name to A&P Landscaping Excavation of Utah later that same summer.

The total price of the project was around $30k (like I said, it was a big project).

The payment was broken into 3 payments. We made the first payment and Albero’s brother started the demo on the yard.

The project started out well and the demolition was completed. It wasn’t a perfect project, but most landscaping projects aren’t.

We paid Alberto Patino (Revolution Landscaping of Utah or A&P Landscaping Excavation of Utah) the second 3rd, which was supposed to pay for the concrete work. We never saw them again.

Over the next 4 months, we got nothing but excuse after excuse. Eventually, Alberto Patino (Revolution Landscaping of Utahor A&P Landscaping Excavation of Utah) admitted that he couldn’t do the landscaping and concrete job, and admitted that he owed us $12,500, and that he would get it to us.

It’s been 2 months since then, but we still haven’t received any payments. We text him daily and he regularly promises “just give me a few days” – but Alberto Patino never delivers.

We’ve hired another company to finish his work, which according to them, was crappy.

We’ve also found that we’re not alone. During the same timeframe as our nightmare, Alberto Patino (Revolution Landscaping of Utah or A&P Landscaping Excavation of Utah) has done this to a number of other Utah families.

All of these happened at the same time as ours.

“07/26/2021We asked Alberto to give us a bid for a cement pad at our home in April. He required a deposit before beginning his work. He never showed to do the job or always had some excuse as to why the job couldn’t be done on the day he was supposed to show. It has been almost 4 months now and we have since requested our money back for the job that was never completed. He paid us back half of the deposit on July 1st and promised to pay the second half the next day. He did not pay us and is now giving excuses/ignoring our calls and texts about the second half of our refund. He is a shady business man and completely ripped us off. He lies to his clients as to when the job will be done and then never shows to do the job. All he does is take the clients money and run, he never does the job he was paid to do. We just want our money back.”

“Alberto Patino took a down payment on a job. The job wa never done and a refund was never made.”

“Hired to install a sprinkler system, took half of the money up front. Kept rescheduling and giving excuses for a month. Finally told him I wanted to cancel and get my money back. It has been about 6 weeks and I still do t have my money. Just more excuses. $1300.”

“Alberto Patino took a down payment on a job. The job was never done and a refund was never made.”

We are now starting the process of taking him to small claims court, which is a massive pain and shame.

Alberto Patino took our money, made promises, but didn’t deliver on the promises NOR did he give us our money back.

Update – Small Claims papers have been filed against Alberto Patino for scamming me out of $12,500.

Back in April of 2020, Alberto Patino made a bid on doing work on our yard in Provo Utah.

We approved of the bid and we paid him the first 1/3 and they completed the demo of our front and backyard.

We then paid the second third ($12,500) and he never returned. He admits that he owns us the money, but he still hasn’t paid us.

This week I filed papers to take Alberto Patino to small claims court for the money he owes us. It’s frustrating and annoying that we need to do this to get our money back.

Every text we’ve had with him, he promises that he has the money and will pay us later that week. 5 months later, he’ll get his chance to tell that to the judge.

Don’t hire Alberto Patino.
